College Football Rivalry Game: Arizona vs. Arizona State

On November 23, 2012 we went to a college football rivalry game known as the Territorial Cup between Arizona University (based in Tucson, Arizona) and Arizona State University (based in Tempe, Arizona) in Tucson, Arizona.  Cody's Uncle Kevin paid for our tickets and good seats.  Cody's Dad and his wife Lucy came, as well as Kevin and Debi Howard, Cody's Uncle and Aunt.

While we were there some of the fans got rowdy and at least 7 fans were arrested near us for throwing popcorn and ice, and causing trouble.  Also, some were thrown out for having alcohol when it was forbidden.

Below are some of the pictures from that game, as well as the police arresting individuals.  Enjoy!  By the way, Arizona State won by 10 points, much to the chagrin of Uncle Kevin Howard.

 The crowd really filled up the seats.  An estimated 51,901 fans filled the stadium.  This is only one portion of the stadium.

Thanksgiving 2012 in Tucson, Arizona

On November 22nd we were at the home of Cody's Uncle and Aunt, Kevin and Debi Howard, in Tucson, Arizona for Thanksgiving Day.  Also with us this day were Cody's Aunt and Uncle, Debi and Kevin Howard; their sons, Devin and Dustin Howard, their daughters, Emily and Hannah Howard, Dustin Howard's son, Aden Howard; Cody's Dad, Craig Johnson; his wife, Lucy Johnson; and their daughter and Cody's half-sister, Craily Johnson.  Also in attendance was Kevin Howard's niece and her husband and their children.  Here are some of the pictures from Thanksgiving 2012.

Awesome Possum

On the night of November 18, 2012 Cody spotted a large possum by the trash bin when he went to take the trash out.  Instead of running away the possum kept its distance and remained curious as well as desirous that Cody would leave so it could resume its night raiding.  Cody was able to snag these pictures of the possum just outside our apartment in San Bernardino.

Youth Temple Trip

On November 2nd Cody was able to go to the Redlands Temple to do baptisms for the dead.  This was the first time Cody brought the names of his ancestors and was their proxy.  He brought 3 names from his Grandpa Neal’s line and one from his Grandpa Johnson’s line.  On his Grandpa Neal’s line he brought the names of his 4^th Great-Grandfathers, James McDaniel and John Adams (not the U.S. President), born 1803/1810 and 1805 respectively.  He also brought John Adam’s grandson and Cody’s 3^rd Great-Uncle, Henry Green Adams, born in 1856.  On his Grandpa Johnson’s line he brought Robert Flack, either his 7^th or 8^th Great-Uncle, born in about 1650.   

At the beginning of the Youth Temple Trip he acted as a witness for the baptisms and helped confirm some names before going into the water for his ancestors and then coming out and being confirmed in their behalf.  It was a glorious experience for him and he plans to bring more names in the future.  After the temple trip Cody met up with the youth at the In and Out restaurant.  Here are some pictures from the In and Out.

Cody's Birthday

On November 1st we celebrated Cody's 29th birthday.  Here are some pictures from that event.

No Easy Day 

This is the book Cody's Mom got him for his birthday.  He has already finished reading it.  Interesting book.
